Volunteers are being sought to participate in the Schenectady Inner City Ministry’s third annual Day of Service, Saturday, April 26.
The event will focus on cleaning up city parks used as sites for SICM’s Summer Lunch Program.
Work sites will include Hillhurst Park on Campbell Avenue, Jerry Burrell Park at the corner of Schenectady and Hamilton streets, Wallingford Park at the corner of Congress and Fifth streets and Steinmetz Park on Lenox Avenue.
The day will kick off with a continental breakfast at 8:45 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, 811 Brandywine Ave. Volunteers will work at their sites between 9 a.m. and noon.

SICM is a coalition of congregations founded in 1967 for joint programs of social service and social justice. It runs a host of programs serving the city and county of Schenectady, including a food program and pantry, the Schenectady Damien Center, Spiritually Sound-Physically Fit, the Edible Playgrounds initiative, Summer Youth Lunch and others.
