An undergraduate student at the University at Albany was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead today, according to UAlbany President Robert Jones.

Jones sent an email to students, faculty and staff on Wednesday. The student was a junior from Port Jefferson.

Jones is advising those who need additional support to contact the University Counseling Center, 518-442-580, Middle Earth Peer Assistance, 518-442-5777, and the Interfaith Center, 518-489-8573.

Last month a 20-year-old student from Nassau County was found dead in his dorm on Alumni Quad at UAlbany. There was no evidence of foul play.
