A Greenwich woman was charged with a misdemeanor Tuesday after allegedly leaving three young children in her vehicle outside the Target store in Wilton.

Jill A. Collins, 37, of County Route 113, was arrested on a charge of endangering the welfare of a child, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department said.

Deputies said they responded to a 911 call around 5:40 p.m. that three children were left unattended in the Target parking lot.

The arriving patrol found the children were still unattended, with the vehicle running and unlocked. Deputies said Collins, who was making purchases inside the store, returned after about 20 minutes.

Deputies said the children, ages 2, 5, and 8, were unharmed and were left in the care of family during Collins’ arrest.

She was issued an appearance ticket to return to Wilton Town Court.
