A Wilton man was arrested Wednesday on a charge of felony drunken driving under Leandra’s Law, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department said.
Francis C. Sweenor, 45, of Burnham Road, was arrested following a 1:35 p.m. incident in which he was observed talking on his cellphone while driving, deputies said.
Charges against him include using a cellphone while driving, DWI and felony aggravated DWI under Leandra’s Law, because his 7-year-old son was in the vehicle.
Deputies said he was observed on Fawn Road in Moreau by Deputy Joseph Salisbury, who stopped the vehicle. Sweenor was released without bail after arraignment, and the boy was released to his mother.
