A Malta woman was arrested after police say she drove her vehicle into another vehicle while under the influence of drugs and with an infant in the car.
Ashley Schober, 25, lost control of her vehicle at about 4:35 p.m. Monday while attempting to pass a vehicle on state Route 9 in Malta and struck another vehicle on Cramer Road, state police said. Schober's vehicle, which had a 1-year-old infant inside, then became airborne and landed on its roof, police said.
Injuries sustained in the accident were not considered life-threatening, police said.
Schober, who consented to a blood test, was found to be under the influence of drugs, police said. She was charged with felony driving while ability impaired by drugs under Leandra's Law.
Schober will appear in Malta Town Court at a later date.
