A Saratoga Springs man was indicted Wednesday in connection with an August 2013 accident in Clifton Park that occurred while he was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and marijuana.
Daniel C. Stack, 26, of Jefferson Street, faces a felony charge of second-degree vehicular assault as well as misdemeanor counts of driving while intoxicated and driving while impaired by drugs.
It is alleged that Stack was westbound on Route 146 in Clifton Park last Aug. 22 when he crossed a double-solid line and struck an oncoming car head-on.
Both Stack and the other driver, Ertugrul Berkcan, 63, of Clifton Park, had to be extricated from their vehicles by emergency personnel and flown by helicopter to Albany Medical Center for treatment of what state police said were serious injuries.
Stack, who is currently free without bail, will be arraigned in County Court in May 1, according to the Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office.
