A Gansevoort man was arrested Friday for allegedly stealing a check and a shotgun from a man he was helping, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department said.
David P. Drennen, 28, of Gordon Lane, was accused of fourth-degree grand larceny and petty larceny, deputies said.
Deputies said the victim in December had reported unusual activity in his checking account, and that a shotgun was missing. An investigation led to Drennen, who had been assisting the victim with paying his bills. Deputies said the 20-gauge shotgun, which was traded to another person, was recovered.
Drennen will appear in the future in Northumberland town court.
