Four charged in Stillwater thefts

Stillwater police have made four arrests following a six-week investigation into several burglaries

Stillwater police have made four arrests following a six-week investigation into several burglaries and larcenies.

Stolen items included personal checks, iPads and the prescription medication Suboxone, which is used to treat heroin addiction, police said. Police recovered some of the stolen property.

Garth J. Russom, 25 of Stillwater, was charged with three counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor. He was arraigned in Stillwater Town Court and sent to the Saratoga County jail with bail set at $2,000.

Caroline Garrity, 19, of Stillwater, was charged with eight counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and five counts of petit larceny, all misdemeanors. She was arraigned in Stillwater Town Court and sent to the Saratoga County jail with bail set at $10,000.

Justin A. Miller, 22, of Stillwater, was charged with three counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. He was released on a ticket to appear in Stillwater Town Court.

Bryan D. Blasi, 54, of Precious Metal Recycling in Mechanicville, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. He was released on an appearance ticket.

The investigation and arrests were handled by Stillwater police Sgt. Ray Cordani.
