Lacrosse: Hardt scores eight for Lady Dutch

Morgan Hardt scored eight goals and assisted on another to help defending Section II Class A champio

Morgan Hardt scored eight goals and assisted on another to help defending Section II Class A champion Guilderland top Columbia, 20-14, in a Suburban Council girls’ game Thursday.

Cara Quimby and Shannon Mackesay both added four goals, Quimby with four assists and Mackesay with two. Kaitlyn Hess made 16 saves.

The 7-7 Blue Devils were led by Helena Masiello with five goals and three assists, while Gabby Childrose finished with four goals and four assists, Jackie McGlynn with three goals and an assist.

Colonie edged Averill Park, 10-8, with seven goals from Katie Higgins. Averill Park got three goals apiece from Caitlyn O’Shea and Emily Halpin, Halpin adding an assist.

Cat Sexton scored four goals and assisted on five in Niskayuna’s 21-2 win over Ballston Spa, and five other Silver Warriors had hat tricks — Jill Macri, Marissa DiVietro, Anna Picardi, Ellie Petraccione and Alissa Franze.

Emily DeVizzio scored both goals for the Scotties.

Kailyn Hart and Sarah Cheney both scored four goals to lead Shaker past Saratoga Springs, 12-3. Cheney also assisted on four goals.

Saratoga’s Caitlyn Larrabee scored twice.

Spartans cruise

Queensbury’s Ben Willows scored four goals in an 8-2 Foothills Council win over Scotia-Glenville. The Spartans are 3-1 in the league and 8-6 overall.

The Tartans (1-2, 6-5) got two goals from Cullen Swider.

In non-league action, Bethlehem outscored Christian Brothers Academy, 4-1, in the fourth quarter to force overtime, then found the winner in the extra session to book an 8-7 victory. Brad Bettinger had three goals (including the game-winner) and three assists, both John Fredette and James MacKrell had two goals, and Dan Comber made 22 saves.

CBA was led by Jack Zilgme and Don Vivian with a pair of goals apiece, while Tim O’Connell made 18 saves.
