An Albany bar has lost its liquor license after an undercover sting by the state Liquor Authority found the bar serving alcohol to dozens of minors.

Investigators on Friday observed about 150 people inside Jugs & Mugs of Albany at 847-849 Madison Ave., including more than 50 minors, the authority said in a news release. The bar has a maximum occupancy of 50.

The authority obtained statements from 28 minors; 18 said they purchased liquor at the bar and 10 said they had someone purchase it for them, the authority said.

The bar was charged Monday with 20 violations of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Law, including selling to minors, unlicensed bouncers and failure to supervise the premises.

Jugs & Mugs must respond to the charges by June 6. Effective immediately, no alcohol can be served or consumed on site.

Assisting in the investigation were the state Department of Motor Vehicles and Albany police.
