New York Power Authority visitors centers in northern and western New York and in the northern Catskills will receive more than $13 million in state-of-the-art upgrades, NYPA announced Thursday.
Modernization projects will be completed at the Blenheim-Gilboa Visitors Center in North Blenheim, Niagara Power Vista Visitors Center in Lewiston and the Frank S. McCullough Jr. Hawkins Point Visitors Center in Massena.
Upgrades will include large touch screens and exhibits connected to the Internet. More accessible floor layouts, modified signage and improvements to lighting and electrical infrastructure will also be included in the renovations.
Hadley Exhibits, a Buffalo firm, won the contract to develop content and designs for the installation of the new exhibits. Construction at the Blenheim-Gilboa Visitors Center will begin in the fall of 2016 and is scheduled to be completed by spring 2017.
