Long Island man faces drug charges in Cobleskill

A Long Island man was arrested on drug charges Tuesday in Cobleskill, village police announced.

A Long Island man was arrested on drug charges Tuesday in Cobleskill, village police announced.

Harrison C. Laporta, 20, of Centerport turned himself in at mid-afternoon. He faces two counts of third-degree criminal sale of marijuana, a class E felony. He was arraigned in Town Court and released on his own recognizance. He is to return to court July 8.

Village police said they and state police began investigating after learning of Laporta’s alleged activities and were able to buy marijuana from him on two separate occasions.

Investigators asked anyone with information on drug activity in Cobleskill to call Sgt. Rich Bialkowski at the village Police Department.
