O'Connor Quartet to kick off Jazz on Jay series

The summer Jazz on Jay concert series will open at noon Thursday with a performance by the Jeanne O'

The summer Jazz on Jay concert series will open at noon Thursday with a performance by the Jeanne O'Connor Quartet.

The free concerts will continue through Sept. 4 on the Jay Street Pedestrian Mall. In the event of inclement weather performances will be held at Proctors' Robb Alley.

“The Schenectady-Amsterdam Musical Union is proud to continue our partnership with the ElectriCity Arts District to present live jazz for the community,” said AFM Local 85-133 President Catherine Sheridan. “We are excited to have Jeanne O’Connor and her quartet opening the 2014 Concert Series, and look forward to great jazz performances all summer.”

Aug. 7: Mike Lawrence Trio

Aug. 14: Arch Stanton Quartet

Aug. 21: Dylan Canterbury Quintet

Aug. 28: Keith Pray’s Soul Jazz Revival

Sept. 4: The Frank Capri Show

Funding for this project is made possible by a grant from the Schenectady County Legislature through its County Initiative Program, the ElectriCity Arts District, and the AFM Local 85-133 Community Performance Fund.
