LEVITTOWN, N.Y. — An animated version of a doodle created by an 11-year-old Long Island girl is featured on Google's homepage.
Audrey Zhang is the national 2014 Doodle 4 Google contest.
The drawing went live on Google's site at midnight Sunday and will remain there through Monday.
The fifth grader told Newsday she was excited to see her work brought to life.
She attended an awards ceremony in Mountain View, California last month.
Her drawing is titled "Back to Mother Nature." It features a mythical, winged water purification machine.
Doodle 4 Google program manager Liat Ben Rafael says a doodle team of animators got it ready for its homepage debut.
In Audrey's name, Google is donating $20,000 to a charity that brings clean water and latrines to schools in Bangladesh.
