Police arrest over 50 at Mountain Jam festival

State police say more than 50 people were arrested over the weekend at the 10th annual Mountain Jam

State police say more than 50 people were arrested over the weekend at the 10th annual Mountain Jam music festival.

Most were cited for possession or sale of a controlled substance, or marijuana possession. One was charged with obstructing governmental administration, another was cited for third-degree assault, and three others were arrested for resisting arrest.

All charges are misdemeanors.

Those arrested range in age from 18 to 56 and most are from the Northeast: 14 from upstate New York; nine from Connecticut; nine from the New York City area; five from Long Island; four each from Massachusetts, New Jersey and Pennsylvania; two each from Vermont and Virginia; and one each from Maine, New Hampshire and North Carolina.

The four-day festival at Hunter Mountain, near Woodstock, attracted about 25,000 people.
