The Milton woman who was killed in a rafting accident on the rain-swollen Kayaderosseras Creek on Friday died by drowning, according to an autopsy done Tuesday.
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office said the autopsy done at Saratoga Hospital ruled that Diana Henderson’s death was a result of “asphyxiation by drowning.”
The 52-year-old’s remains were recovered Monday morning on the stream bank in Malta after high and swift waters receded, exposing her location. It was about four miles downstream from where she went into the water.
Henderson went out in a personal raft on the swift-moving stream Friday evening near the Creek & Pines mobile home park in Milton, along with four other people.
They all overturned after the speed of the waters carried them past their intended exit point.
The other four — including Henderson’s son and a grandchild — got out of the water safely.
