Later this afternoon Montgomery County Executive Matt Ossenfort plans to sit down with state Gaming Commission officials to discuss the plans by Clairvest Group Inc. and Great Canadian Gaming Corp. to build a casino near Exit 27 of the Thruway.

Clairvest Group and Great Canadian Gaming, the operator and developer of the proposed casino, are looking for the Gaming Commission to extend the application deadline by 60 days and reduced the license fee by $25 million.

Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara, who represents parts of Montgomery County, said in a statement that helped arrange the meeting so that, “the two sides could talk about an amended review process. I hope that state officials will give their concerns fair consideration.”
