Three teenagers have been charged with breaking into Saratoga Catholic Central High School, stealing several items and vandalizing the building.
Saratoga Springs police said the break-in was discovered April 12 by school staff, who discovered several items missing throughout the building, large amounts of graffiti and several other acts of vandalism. Police placed the value of the stolen items at more than $550 and the amount of damage at more than $3,000.
After a lengthy investigation by the department’s patrol division, police said, Giovanni Ortiz, 17, of Saratoga Springs, and two juveniles were each charged Thursday with a felony count of third-degree burglary and misdemeanor counts of third-degree criminal tampering, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, petit larceny and making graffiti.
Arraignment information on Ortiz was not available, while the juveniles, whose names were withheld because of their ages, were petitioned to Saratoga County Family Court.
