A Hudson Falls man was indicted Monday on charges of getting drugs into the Saratoga County Jail.
Geoffrey M. Pickering, 24, was indicted on a felony charge of first-degree promoting prison contraband, as well as misdemeanor second-degree promoting prison contraband. He was also charged with seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
Pickering was originally arrested on the charges while an inmate at the county jail in January.
Also Monday, the grand jury indicted Eric Savino, 30, of the Bronx, on charges of second-degree possession of a forged instrument and second-degree identity theft. Both are felonies.
State police charged him with committing the crimes in December and January in Wilton.
In other cases Monday before Saratoga County Court Judge Jerry Scarano:
• Artis L. Daniel, 44, of 4th Avenue, Watervliet, was sentenced to 2 to 4 years in prison. He pleaded guilty in April to first-degree criminal contempt for an incident in Waterford in February.
• Brenda J. Smith, 60, of Birch Lane, Stillwater, was sentenced to one year in state prison and one year of post-release supervision. She pleaded guilty in April to attempted third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. She was arrested in Stillwater in January.
