New York state police said an Amsterdam woman was killed after her vehicle was struck by another that failed to stop at four-way intersection of Midline Road and county Route 107 early this morning.
Katy M. Peterson, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene after the car she was driving was struck around 6 a.m. Investigators said Peterson stopped at a stop sign on Midline Road, and then proceeded north when she was struck by a vehicle driving by Schuyler P. Duross, 24, of Johnstown, who was traveling east on County Route 107 and failed to stop at the four-way intersection.
Police said Duross' vehicle slammed into Peterson's driver's side door, killing her. Duross was taken by private vehicle to be evaluated at an area hospital.
State police did not issue any tickets or charges. A collision reconstruction team continues to investigate the crash, which closed the busy intersection for more than six hours this morning.
Broadalbin Volunteer Ambulance responded to the scene and assisted at the crash.
