A New Scotland man has been charged after he admitted to using a slingshot during a dispute with a neighbor, state police said.
More than a week ago, state police responded to a report of damage to a New Scotland home and two vehicles parked there, troopers said. On Saturday, troopers responded to a call from the same resident, who said he observed additional damage to his home, troopers said.
During an investigation, David P. Ellers told police that he used a slingshot to fire pellets at the caller’s residence because of an ongoing dispute, troopers said.
Ellers was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and first-degree harassment, both misdemeanors. He is due to appear in New Scotland town court July 17.
