Parts of Ballston and Charlton had trees come down and experienced power outages when a severe thunderstorm passed through just before 8 p.m. Tuesday.
"There were some pretty large trees that came down," said Saratoga County Emergency Services Director Carl Zeilman.
Zeilman, who lives in Ballston, said he personally experienced the storm, and saw instances where trees had fallen on parked vehicles. However, he said it hadn't received any reports of structural damage to homes.
Based on report to the county's emergency dispatch center, damage appeared to be highest along Route 50, Middle Line Road and in the Chapel Hill development, but their was damage and overnight road closures throughout Ballston and parts of Charlton.
The Capital Region is under a severe thunderstorm watch this afternoon until 7 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
