INWOOD — A man is under arrest for allegedly pushing two people onto hot coals from a grill and stabbing one of them with a barbecue utensil.

Police say Fredrick Walker threw a woman onto the hot coals after he knocked over the grill in front of a home in Inwood, Long Island, on Saturday.

Police say he also struck the woman's head against the sidewalk and stabbed her in the neck with the utensil.

When a man tried to intervene, police say Walker pushed the man onto the hot coals.

Both victims were treated for cuts and burns at a hospital.

Walker was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

It wasn't immediately known if he had a lawyer
