Rotterdam lifts state of emergency

The state of emergency in the town of Rotterdam is finally over.

The state of emergency in the town of Rotterdam is finally over.

At 6 p.m. Monday, town officials announced the town’s water is once again safe to drink and water levels are back to normal.

Residents had been asked to minimize their use of town water while workers fixed a broken valve on Bernard Street.

The emergency began June 30, when about 20,000 residents lost water service after four main water pipes broke over the course of 18 hours.
