ISCHUA, N.Y. — Authorities say a tip called in by a Facebook follower led to the arrest of the motorist who was involved in a hit-and-run accident with an Amish horse-drawn buggy on a western New York road.
State police say they posted information on the July 7 crash in Cattaraugus County on Facebook and Twitter. Troopers say a Facebook user called them with information on the vehicle and driver.
That led to the arrest of a 31-year-old woman from Cuba, New York.
Troopers say she left the scene of the accident after driving into a horse and buggy on Route 16, injuring three Amish people. All three are recovering from their injuries.
The woman has been charged with leaving the scene of an injury accident and leaving the scene of an accident involving an animal.
