A car breakdown led to a man’s arrest on drug charges Monday, state police said.
The arrest came after a state trooper spotted a disabled motorist at Route 145 and Mineral Springs Road in the town of Cobleskill around midnight Monday morning. The trooper approached the car and immediately smelled marijuana, police said.
Police said the driver, Joshua J. Wansor, 28, of Vestal, told the trooper he was returning home from a music festival in Saugerties when his car broke down. A search of the car uncovered two bricks of hashish, THC lollipops, plastic bags containing marijuana and a small scale.
Wansor faces one count each of fifth-degree and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana.
He was arraigned and ordered held in lieu of bail.
