An Amsterdam man arrested on Tuesday faces charges of third-degree rape after he sexually assaulted a woman in the town of Glen earlier this month, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
The crime was committed by 46-year-old Justin Milonovich, deputies said.
Milonovich had sexual intercourse with a woman without her consent in a wooded area near the Schoharie Boat Launch at 195 Hartley Lane, deputies said. The assault took place July 11 and the victim filed a complaint two days later, deputies said.
The victim was released from St. Mary’s hospital shortly after being admitted for minor injuries.
The investigation was conducted with assistance from the Amsterdam Police Department, Sexual Assault Support Services and The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.
Milonovich was arraigned at the Town of Glen Court; he remains at the Montgomery County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
