The Tri-City ValleyCats pounded out 16 hits, including three apiece by Mott Hyde, Ryan Bottger and Terrell Joyce, en route to a 14-0 shutout of the Staten Island Yankees in a New York-Penn League game Thursday night at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium.

Nick Tanieulu drove in four runs and added two hits, including his second home run of the season, and A.J. Reed also collected two hits, including his fourth homer, to go along with three RBI. Hyde also had three RBI for the ValleyCats.

Four Tri-City pitchers allowed only five hits. Francis Ramirez (2-4) picked up the win and went the first five innings, allowing two hits, striking out five. Vince Wheeland, Randall Fant and Kyle Weiland combined to allow just three hits the rest of the way.

The ValleyCats (28-12) scored three times in the third, four times in the fifth and five times in the sixth.

Tri-City continues its series with the Yankees tonight at 7.
