OrthoNY has acquired Schenectady Regional Orthopedic Associates, a practice based out of 530 Liberty

OrthoNY has acquired Schenectady Regional Orthopedic Associates, a practice based out of 530 Liberty St. in Schenectady.

The merger combines both groups’ resources and expertise to offer comprehensive bone and joint care to patients in the Capital Region. The Schenectady practice adds 59 employees and four locations to OrthoNY’s roster, including the SROA Center for Sports Medicine in Clifton Park and Schenectady, adding physical therapy and sports training to OrthoNY’s services.

The merger became official earlier this month. Together, they have 39 physicians, 23 physician assistants, two nurse practitioners, and more than 250 clinical and administrative staff across a dozen offices.

“Our team is very excited to work with the physicians and staff of Schenectady Regional Orthopedic Associates, continuing their tradition of excellent orthopedic care,” said OrthoNY CEO Alan Okun. “We are committed to SROA’s patients and referring physicians and look forward to enhancing services for them in Schenectady, Clifton Park and Guilderland, as we have at our other locations in Delmar, Albany, East Greenbush, Latham, Malta, Saratoga Springs and Glens Falls.”

OrthoNY was formed by the merger of Northeast Orthopaedics and Orthopaedic Associates of Saratoga in January 2013.
