GUILDERLAND — Andrew Stanton hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning, lifting the Bluehawks to a 2-1 victory over the Albany Athletics in the AABC North Atlantic Regional championship game Sunday at Keenholts Park.
It’s the first title for the Bluehawks, who will play in the AABC World Series starting Thursday in Farmingdale.
Stanton also had a double and single. Ryan Gauck added two singles.

BRISTOL, Conn. — Jason Kapp’s three-run homer capped a four-run first inning, and Toms River (N.J.). held on for a 6-4 victory over Colonie in the Little League World Series Mid-Atlantic Regional at Breen Field.
Colonie (1-1), scored all of its runs in the fifth, helped by three Toms River errors.
Colonie faces West Salisbury (Md.) at 5 p.m. today.

Game rained out
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — The Babe Ruth 14U Mid-Atlantic Regional game between Rotterdam and North Syracuse was rained out. It will be played tonight at 7.
Rotterdam is 3-0 in pool play and has clinched at least a quarterfinal-round berth.
Nisky top seed
NISKAYUNA — Dylan Sheely’s single scored pinch-runner Andrew Hartana in the sixth inning to lift Niskayuna to a 3-2 victory over Waretown (N.J.) in the Babe Ruth 13-15-year-old Mid-Atlantic regional at Blatnick Park.
Ben Funyak struck out the side in the seventh to earn the save for Niskayuna, which improved to 3-0 and clinched the top seed in Pool A.
Dylan Mears had two doubles and an RBI for Waretown.
