During the coming school year the Gloversville Enlarged School District will look to find more cost-efficient ways of implementing and delivering its educational curriculum.

Following a meeting with educational consultant Paul Seversky earlier this month, the district began studying possible options to improve the education system for the next three years.

During the meeting, board members and school Superintendent Michael Vanyo identified key questions and topics that should be included in the study. The results of the meeting are posted on the school district website, www.gloversvilleschools.org/.

“The district has invited Dr. Seversky into the district as a guest outsider to help us take an objective look in the mirror,” Vanyo said. “He’ll visit the district, conduct interviews and analyze data about our programs, facilities and enrollments and will identify doable options for the district.”

Serevsky says his final report, which will be released to the public, will present options the Board of Education and community could choose to implement or use to foster an informed discussion about the future of the district.

Seversky also will present the findings of his report to the community and district staff at a meeting.

Following the meeting the district will form a community focus group to gain a community perspective concerning the options contained in the study.

“This study will be a valuable tool for the administration, Board of Education and the community as we plan for the district’s future and make improvements for our students,” Vanyo said. “Later this year, we will be reaching out to the community for their assistance as we plan for our future.”
