NISKAYUNA — Nick Insognia, Alec Ritzenthaler and Matt Toy each had a double and a single Monday as Niskayuna cruised to a 12-4 victory over Franklin Township (N.J.) on the final day of pool play in the Babe Ruth 13-15-year-old Mid-Atlantic Regionals at Blatnick Park.
Niskayuna, which finished pool play with a 4-0 record, had already earned the top seed in pool A and advanced to tonight’s semifinals at 8. Niskayuna’s opponent will be determined in this afternoon’s quarterfinal round.
The championship game will be played at noon Wednesday.
Ben Funyak and Andrew Hartana each contributed two singles to Niskayuna’s offense Monday.
In other tournament action at Blatnick Park, Bethlehem defeated Bear Delaware, 5-1, behind two hits apiece from Jonn Hogg and Ned Englebride and a double from Andrew Hicks; and Rotterdam fell to Broomall-Newtown, 13-2, behind Scott Hahn’s homer and double.
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Jon Seiter scattered five hits and also had two singles and scored a run as Rotterdam completed pool play in the Babe Ruth 14-year-old Mid-Atlantic Regional with a 3-2 victory over North Syracuse.
Brandon Smith had a two-run double in the second for Rotterdam, and Brandon Kruzinski had two singles, a sacrifice fly and stole two bases.
Rotterdam completed pool play with a 4-0 record and will play in the semifinals at 4 this afternoon.

BRISTOL, Conn. — Dylan Smith and Ethan Peterman combined on a no-hitter, pitching West Salisbury (Md.) to a 5-0 win over Colonie in the Little League World
Series Mid-Atlantic Regional at Breen Field.

ALBANY — Scott Hladik drove in two runs with a home run and a single as the Albany Senators advanced to the championship round of the Albany Twilight League playoffs with a 4-1 victory over the Waterford Nationals.
