Authorities say they broke up a large cocaine-dealing operation in a mobile home park on Rock City Road last month, arresting a father and son on drug charges after receiving a tip from Saratoga Springs.
Operating on information supplied by Saratoga Springs police, investigators with the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office raided Lot 291 on July 5. Arrested were Alvin A. Watson, 57, and Mensah L. Watson, 20, who were each charged with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance.
A search warrant executed at the house uncovered a large amount of cocaine, marijuana, packaging materials, $5,403 in cash and other drug paraphernalia. Alvin Watson allegedly possessed eight ounces of cocaine, while his son was allegedly holding a half-ounce of the drug.
“They certainly had quite a lot,” said Lt. Jeff Brown.
Brown said investigators didn’t immediately publicize the arrest so they could track down other leads associated with the case. An investigation continues, and additional charges could be forthcoming.
