A drug sweep Thursday morning led to the arrest of four suspected drug dealers in the city of Amsterdam.

Amsterdam police, working with the state police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office, culminated a six-month investigation when it executed search and arrest warrants about 5:30 a.m. at 39 Elizabeth St. and 259 Division St., first floor.

Police said they confiscated more than 5 grams of cocaine, glassine envelopes of heroin and more than $800 in cash at the Elizabeth Street address and more than 10 grams of cocaine and a small amount of marijuana on Division Street.

Arrested were:

• Elizabeth Willsey, 30, of 39 Elizabeth St., charged with felony counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third- and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance

• Shayzon Taylor, 30, of 259 Division St., 1st floor, charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance

• Carol Drescher, 31, of 358 Division St., 1st floor, charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, as well as unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation

• Trevon Williams, 21, of 22 Northampton Road, charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance

A fifth person, Preston “PJ” Beverly, 48, of 72 Mechanic St., was arrested Wednesday night during an investigation into an unrelated incident. He was charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.

All five were arraigned Thursday afternoon in Amsterdam City Court.

Another unidentified suspect, who has an active arrest warrant for drug sales, remains at large, police said.
