Town residents can weigh in Monday on a developer’s plan to build about 140 homes between the Glen Oaks and Indian Hills neighborhoods of Glenville.
The public hearing will take place at 7 p.m. during the town Planning and Zoning Commission’s meeting at Town Hall.
Amedore Homes wants to connect the two neighborhoods, and the new single-family homes would be an extension of Glen Oaks along Spring Road.
The proposal has faced opposition from residents of the two neighborhoods since it first went before the board early this year. Residents’ main concerns are that the development would increase traffic in their neighborhoods and aversely affect stormwater management, according to town Supervisor Chris Koetzle.
“The town is looking very seriously at those concerns, and we’re doing everything we can to mitigate the impact on the existing neighborhoods,” he said.
Koetzle said the proposal fits the character of the residentially zoned area. Amedore Homes is seeking preliminary site plan approval.
