A Rotterdam man who went fishing was found dead Saturday near the creek where he’d hoped to fish.
Conrad R. St. Pierre, 73, was found on a steep hill between his truck and the Schoharie Creek, Schoharie County sheriff’s deputies said. The Schoharie County coroner on Monday ruled the death was due to heart attack.
His wife called police when he had not returned home by 9:30 p.m. He had left his home in Rotterdam at 7:30 a.m. to fish along the creek in Esperance, she told police.
Deputies found his truck parked on the side of the road on Priddle Road.
Conservation Officer Sgt. Keith Isles and his K-9 searched the wooded hill leading to the nearby creek and found St. Pierre’s body.
