Developers proposing a casino in East Greenbush will host a career fair this month for prospective employees.

The Capital View Casino & Resort, pitched by Saratoga Harness Racing and Churchill Downs of Kentucky, will hold a job fair on Aug. 19 for local residents to learn more about potential opportunities.

The event will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. at Melvin Roads American Legion Post 1231 located at 200 Columbia Turnpike in the town of East Greenbush, Rensselaer County.

Employees from Saratoga Casino and Raceway and Churchill Downs will be available to discuss required qualifications for gaming industry jobs. Pre-registration for the event is not required.

The East Greenbush casino, if it receives a license, is expected to create 1,063 full-time jobs and 1,107 direct jobs by 2018 with an average annual salary of $33,484.

Saratoga Harness and Churchill Downs are competing against four other proposed sites in the Capital Region for a casino license.
