Rocker Eddie Money’s planned performance Wednesday at Empire State Plaza, part of the annual New York State Food Festival, has been moved indoors to the Empire State Plaza Convention Center because of the threat of stormy weather.
The food festival begins at 10 a.m., with vendors offering New York state wine, spirits and specialty foods on the concourse level of the Empire State Plaza, including the gallery near the entrance to the Egg.
The planned main stage musical performances will be held inside the Convention Center, standing room only. Performances begin at 5 p.m. with The Blind Spots. At 6:15 p.m., Soul Session takes the stage and headliner Eddie Money plays at 7:45 p.m.
A limited number of food vendors will be outside on the Empire State Plaza around the base of The Egg, starting at 5 p.m. New York State beers will be sold at the base of The Egg on the concourse level starting at 5 p.m.
Planned cooking demonstrations and the Plaza Painting class have been canceled. The “Made in the Shade” performance by Sensemaya, planned for noon Wednesday, has been rescheduled to noon on Friday, outside at The Egg.
Free parking on Wednesday will be available after 3 p.m. in the cathedral lot off Madison Avenue, and after 5 p.m. in the East Garage on the corners of Madison Avenue, Eagle Street and Philip Street. Parking is also available for $5 at the visitor lot underneath the plaza after 4 p.m.
