Amsterdam police say two men were hospitalized with knife wounds after a Tuesday night fight.
Police said they responded about 9:20 p.m. to a report of a large fight in front of 60 Division St. and determined two men had been fighting. Police said one sustained a severe laceration to his forearm, while the other had a knife wound to his elbow. The male with the severe arm laceration was taken to Albany Medical Center, police said, while the other was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital.
Police said they were unable Tuesday night to extensively interview either man because of their injuries, but a search of the area resulted in the discovery of a large machete that had been hidden in a bush near the scene of the fight. Police are not yet releasing the identities of either man as the investigation continues.
Police said neither man appeared to have life-threatening injuries, but their conditions were not available late Tuesday.
