A Cohoes man has been arrested in connection with a McDonald’s robbery in Loudonville on Sunday and the same man is a suspect in other heists, police said.
Ismael E. Maxwell, 26, faces one count of first-degree robbery, a felony.
He is accused of robbing the Osborne Road McDonald’s just after 4:30 p.m. Sunday, demanding money from the restaurant’s safe. Maxwell implied he had a weapon, but did not display one, police said.
Police responded and set up a perimeter. After getting calls about the man’s possible whereabouts, an officer spotted Maxwell on Collegeview Drive. He was arrested without incident. Money taken in the robbery was found with Maxwell, police said. No weapon was found.
Maxwell is under investigation for similar robberies around the Capital Region. Further charges could be filed.
