A Troy couple were beaten to death inside their home early Wednesday morning, and police were searching for their vehicle.
Two men were seen leaving the scene in the couple’s vehicle. They are also being sought, though police did not have a description.
Allen, 51, and Maria Lockrow, 59, were killed inside their mobile home at 709 First Ave., Troy police spokesman Capt. Daniel DeWolf said.
Police were called to the residence about 2:40 a.m. after a neighbor heard noises similar to a fight, DeWolf said. Police arrived expecting to find a domestic dispute, but instead found a quiet home and no answer. They also found the front door damaged, apparently from having been forced open.
The officers entered and found Allen Lockrow dead. His wife was still alive, but gravely injured. She died later at St. Mary’s Hospital.
The two are believed to have been killed by a large stick, possibly a baseball bat, DeWolf said.
Witnesses reported seeing two men leaving the scene in the couple’s blue 2013 Ford Escape. The car’s New York license plates are CKL 8018.
Anyone who sees the vehicle is asked to contact Troy police at 270-4421.
The killings were the seventh and eighth in Troy for 2014, up from previous years.
