The second annual SummerFest will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday in the lot by Centro Civico.
SummerFest’s main sponsor is Nathan Littauer Hospital. Thirty vendors will be at the event, including the Capital District YMCA and Montgomery County Public Health.
There will also be free health services, such as blood pressure checks by Walgreens and vision screenings by Wal-Mart.
Fabrizia Rodriguez, director of the community development initiative at Centro Civico, said the event lets people in the community know what resources are available to them, and lets providers in the area get to know the community, as well.
“This is a great opportunity for everyone to get together and promote healthy living in a fun way,” Rodriguez said.
Other health services at the event will include diabetes and skin screenings and pharmacist consultations. There will also be free back-to-school supplies and haircuts for kids, as well as food and music.
. Centro Civico is at 143 E. Main St. The event is free and open to all.
“Rain or shine,” Rodriguez said, “we’re on.”
