A Halfmoon woman was charged with driving while intoxicated Friday after police say she caused a three-car crash on Route 9 that sent her and another driver to the hospital.
State police said Sherri Lourie, 51, failed to stop her Nissan sedan for a vehicle stopped in front of her about 10:15 p.m. The force of the crash, which occured in front of the Ripe Tomato restaurant, pushed the vehicle into another stopped vehicle, troopers said.
Lourie and the driver of the vehicle she crashed into, who was not identified, were taken to Albany Medical Center with injuries that did not appear to be life threatening, troopers said. The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured.
Lourie was charged with DWI after consenting to a blood draw, troopers said. She was released on a ticket to appear in Malta Town Court.
