State police continue to investigate the death of a Clifton Park woman whose body was found late Tuesday, two days after she had been reported missing.
An autopsy done by Dr. Michael Sikirica on Wednesday at Albany Medical Center found no indication of foul play or any obvious medical cause for the death of Melanie V. Stevenson, 51, of 98 Gloucester St., state police said.
Stevenson’s body was found behind the Ravenswood Pub on Route 146, within hours after police appealed for the public’s help in finding her.
Police said they will now await toxicology results, which could take several weeks, to try to determine a cause of death.
Stevenson was last seen around noon on Sunday walking near her home in the Park Lane Estates development off Vischer Ferry Road, near Clifton Commons. The home is a little more than a half-mile from where her body was found.
