A Queensbury man was charged with driving while intoxicated after police said he caused a multi-vehicle crash Friday in Lake George.

Warren County sherriff's deputies said Stephen C. Britton, 61, was driving south on Canada Street shortly before 9:50 p.m. when he tried to turn left onto Westbrook Road and failed to yield to an oncoming vehicle driven by Scott Myers, 53, of Glens Falls. Britton's vehicle then hit a third vehicle on Westbrook Road driven by Tonya Denton, 26, of Albany, deputies said, before striking a parked and unoccupied vehicle and coming to rest across the intersection.

Deputies said Britton was taken to Glens Falls Hospital with a head injury. No one else was injured.

Deputies said they determined Britton was intoxicated and charged him with DWI following his release from the hospital. He was also charged with failure to yield the right of way and refusal to take a breath test. He was released on tickets to appear Sept. 18 in Lake George Town Court.
