A Colonie man was sentenced Wednesday to a year in jail for driving while intoxicated with a child in the vehicle, the Albany County District Attorney’s Office said.
James F. Cullen, 36, pleaded guilty earlier to the felony DWI count.
He was arrested Dec. 18 after a traffic stop on Route 5 in Colonie for an unsafe lane change. He was found to be under the influence of heroin at the time. Four children under the age of 15 were in his back seat.
The intoxication determination was made by a police drug recognition expert, officials said.
