The county Legislature appointed a new election commissioner Monday.

Amy Hild, who was a deputy commissioner in the county Board of Elections, was named commissioner in a special meeting. Her term runs until the end of 2018.

She was recommended by the county Democratic Committee.

The post was vacated by Brian Quail early this month. He is now deputy counsel to the state Board of Elections.

Quail became a commissioner in 2006 and stayed through the primary election last week.

His salary was $90,000.
