Police say an Albany woman was drunk early Saturday when she drove the wrong way on the New York State Thruway and hit a tractor-trailer near Exit 26.

Joanna Scott, 26, made a U-turn in westbound lane of the Thruway about 1 a.m. and began traveling east while still in the westbound lane, police said. After crashing her Honda Accord into the tractor-trailer, Scott's car spun and came to rest partly in the westbound lane, according to police.

Scott was extricated from her car by fire and emergency medical responders. She was listed in stable condition at Albany Medical Center later in the day.

Scott was charged with driving while intoxicated and unlawful possession of marijuana, as well as vehicle and traffic offenses.
