Albany man gets 6 years in child porn case

An Albany man was sentenced Thursday to six years in federal prison after admitting to distributing

An Albany man was sentenced Thursday to six years in federal prison after admitting to distributing images and movies of child pornography online, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

Paul Scrom, 63, was arrested in September 2013 after investigators searched his home and found numerous images and videos depicting child pornography, officials said.

He pleaded guilty in May to distribution of child pornography. Once he gets out of prison, he will be subject to 10 years of supervised release and must register as a sex offender.
