It was still 1969, but Lance Marshall was looking forward to 1970.

Marshall, a seventh-grade student at Steinmetz Junior High School, had the cover photo for the King School 1970 calendar. Lance, a former King student, also had some shots inside the new year’s calendar.

The month maps made great Christmas gifts, and sales helped out the school’s visual literacy project.

Some people were still having fun in the old year. Musicians from Draper High School and Elmer Avenue Elementary School practiced for holiday concerts. Kids from Brown School acted in a nativity scene.

Christmas bazaars were scheduled and so were some preholiday suppers — the Tri-Cities Advertising Club posed for a jolly photo at the Golden Fox restaurant in Albany.
